About the Author
Alan Brown is a former member of the Scottish National Orchestra. He now works as a freelance musician, with several leading UK orchestras, and as a consultant in music and IT. Alan has had several compositions published, developed a set of music theory CD-Roms, co-written a series of Bass Guitar Examination Handbooks and worked on over 100 further titles.
Richard Langham Smith is Research Professor at the Royal College of Music. His critical translation of Debussy’s complete articles appeared in 1977 and he has subsequently co-authored the Cambridge Opera Guide to Debussy’s Pelleás et Melisande as well as writing and broadcasting on French music in general. His completion of Debussy’s unfinished opera Rodrigue et Chimène opened the new opera house in Lyons in 1993.
