About the Author

Janice Weaver is a noted author of nonfiction. Her first two books, Building America and From Head to Toe, were both named Notable Books by the International Reading Association. From Head to Toe was also nominated for a Rocky Mountain Book Award and the Ontario Library Association’s Red Maple Award. Her most recent book, The A to Z of Everyday Things, was published in 2004 to equal acclaim. When she’s not writing, Janice likes to agonize over paint colors and flooring options
at her Toronto home.

Frieda Wishinsky is the international award-winning author of over thirty trade and educational books. Her books have earned critical acclaim and have been reviewed in magazines and newspapers around the world. Her book, Each One Special, was nominated for a 1999 Governor General's Award for text. Her book Jennifer Jones Won’t Leave Me Alone won both the 2004 Stockport and Sheffield Children’s Picture Book Award. Frieda's books have been translated into many languages including French, Dutch, Danish, Spanish and Catalan. Frieda loves using humor and history in her work and exploring new ways to tell a story. She lives in Toronto with her husband and family.

Claudia Dàvila is a yoga-happy, food-loving, storm-cooking, designer and illustrator (born in Chile) with a love for recipe-swapping. She was an avocado tree in her past life, feeding the perfect substance to all, with love and a dash of salt.
