Description

The full moon has always been a fascinating mystery, especially in cultures that turn toward nature and the sky for beauty and inspiration. In eastern and northern Native American tribes, in particular, the moon was used as a calendar, and rich folklore surrounded it.

In this collection of poetry, Rita M. Chmura writes about the different names for the full moon in Native American culture. Educational about the seasons, the months of the year, and the moon itself, the poems are a wonderful teaching tool for young children and for families to read together. Each poem is also matched with an illustration that allows the reader's imagination to expand and explore the wonderful beauty of the moon and its cycle.

Whether you're a parent, a teacher, or an educator, you'll need to look no further for the perfect bedtime illustrated story or classroom supplement.
