Bemaasei Yadecha Aranen: 13 +13 new tunes for zemirot, benching, and tefila (translated from Hebrew to mean: 'I will rejoice at the works of your hands') is a Jewish songbook comprised of 26 poignant, lyrical original melodies composed by Margalit Jakob to familiar liturgical texts. Thirteen of these tunes have been recorded on the album I Will Sing Out in Joy. You will discover new tunes to liven up your Birkat Hamazon such as Shir Hamaalot (three of them ), Tamid Lo Chasar Lanu (first paragraph of the benching that ends with "hazan et hakol", R'tsei Vehachalitseinu, Uvnei Yerushalayim, Naar Hayiti. Additionally, the songbook contains Shabat zemirot such as Shalom Aleichem, Tsur Mishelo, Mizmor LeDavid, Yedid Nefesh and others.The songbook is made up of lead sheets - melody, lyrics and chords with lively illustrations by Nehama Greiniman Bauch. Margalit Jakob is a former piano teacher and creativity therapist, now dedicated to composing, recording, and writing about creativity. She delights in helping others to discover and realize their dreams. Jakob won a prize in Israel's First English Language Song Competition with "Song of Peace" 1996. Her debut album of Jewish music, I Will Sing Out in Joy was released in 2016. The songbook, Bemaasei Yadecha Aranen (I will rejoice in the work of your hands), 2018 is a companion to the album. Her muse stems from her piano improvisations, classical training, show tunes and Jewish/ Israeli music. Jakob holds a BA in Music and an MA in Expressive Therapy. Born in England, raised in the US from age 9, she has lived her entire adult life in Israel. She has four grown children and a precious granddaughter. She lives in Jerusalem with her husband and youngest son.
