The twenty-first century is witnessing a rapid increase in scholarly publications in many forms and formats. These developments in the field of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) has led to new ways of scholarly publishing, and give an impetus to academic institutes to build an Institutional Repository (IR) to host its own intellectual output for the wider access of the global community. IRs are increasingly becoming an integral part of these institutes. It is a platform to promote the visibility and impact of the institute's scholarly research to the wider community. This book contains twelve research papers contributed by teachers and practicing librarians. These papers provide an in-depth overview about major developments of institutional repositories world wide that enable LIS professionals to understand the genesis, planning, and execution of IR, and the challenges and the role of the librarian in establishing IR.
